Don't you just love the summer, small towns, and 4th of july parades? I do. I love traveling to small towns on the 4th of July to see all the festive activities and american fare that is all around.
With that said, I think going for the 4th of July look at a wedding could be very fun! Doing this could be very simple. You could collect stuff from your friends and family to be used at your wedding, or you could go one step even better.
Make a road trip with your fiance and go from antique store, to flea market and look for all that is american vintage. Driving the this past weekend I saw a ton of antique dealers and little town markets that looked like they would be so fun to pick through. What's junk to others could be a great centerpiece or room decor. So out of this you could get some great looks for your wedding and some great quality time with your love!
Cheers!

I love fashion and glamour photography. I mean, next to shooting weddings I love setting up eloboratte photo projects, working out details, finding outfits and then directing and shooting. This shoot had been in my mind for a while, and only came to be when our initial location that we were going to shoot at had to cancel. So what did I do? I rented a cheap motel room!
I wanted to take photos that told the story of a lonely beautiful girl with no where to go. Hair was done by Kristine Young and makeup by Rosalba Matone. Dresses are available at Lorraine Roy in Danvers, Ma. My model is my sic friend Mellie.
Enjoy!

What a beautiful day yesterday and today! I could not have asked for better weather to shoot an engagement photos session.
I met up with Mito and Nick at Tufts Campus in Medford, the campus where they both met, fell in love and where Nick proposed to Mito. I loved shooting them all around campus, they are in love and truly have sparks flying around themselves. They are awesome! Nick could make Mito smile with just a glance. Very awesome
I can't wait to shoot their wedding in August!

Like every sunday morning, I wake up, pour a big glass of coffee with lots of sugar (hehe) and then sit down and read my Boston Sunday Globe and sometimes the weekend edition of the wallstreet journal.

This is my time to catch up with the world, relax and just be me. This Sunday's art section had a story about Richard Avedon's photos of JFK and Jackie and their family. I looked at these photos and was just wowed by them. I loved them. The classic pose and great structure of the shots just made me think. So then I found myself looking up JFK's wedding in 1953 in Newport, and I found some great shots by Lisa Larsen on Time/life's website. I think their wedding has a timeless look and is a great source of inspiration for modern weddings that want that newport classic vintage look, what also amazes me is the photojournalistic approach at their wedding, when so many other weddings at the time were still just line them up and shoot em, as we say, grip and grins.
Well with the rain today, and the ash in europe, I hope you find these photos inspirational.

All the colors, cupcakes and clothing would totally work for a funky vintage wedding, anyone want to wear a blue wedding gown?
